A Big G's Exclusive Initiative

The Indigent Inmate Program

Can't Afford Bail? You Still Have Options.

Not everyone who needs bail has the money. That's why we created the Indigent Inmate Program (IIP) — a first-of-its-kind initiative right here in Western Colorado, designed to help those without financial resources get out of jail and get back on their feet.

“You're innocent until proven guilty — and you deserve to fight your case from home, not from a cell.”

How the Program Works

A “work or serve” model designed to give everyone a fair chance

1

Get Released — No Money Down

If you qualify, we post your bond with no upfront payment required. You get out and start putting your life back together.

2

Find Work → Flexible Payments

You're given time to find employment. Once you're working, we create a payment plan based on your actual income — something you can actually afford.

3

Community Service Alternative

Can't find a job? Commit to 8 hours of community service per week. You earn credit toward your bond fees at the current minimum wage rate.

Why We Created This Program

We've been in the bail bonds business for years, and we've seen too many people stuck in jail simply because they couldn't afford to get out — not because they were dangerous, not because they were flight risks, but because they were broke.

That's not justice. That's just poverty keeping people locked up.

The Indigent Inmate Program was our answer. We introduced it to Mesa County courts to prove that bail bondsmen aren't just about money — we're about giving people a fair chance.

Help defendants who have no financial resources
Provide a path to employment and stability
Give back to the community through service
Offer an alternative that actually works

Benefits for the Community

  • Reduces jail costs — counties don't pay to house defendants who can be safely released
  • No monitoring expense — the agency handles accountability, not taxpayers
  • Employment focus — defendants can afford attorneys, saving public defender costs
  • Guaranteed recovery — if someone fails to appear, we bring them back or pay the bond

Our Partners

We work with trusted local organizations to help defendants succeed

Local Employment Agencies

We partner with employment services to help defendants find work and get back on their feet.

Habitat for Humanity

Community service hours are completed through Habitat for Humanity, giving back while earning credit.

Do You Qualify?

Eligibility is determined on a case-by-case basis. The program is currently available for residents of the Grand Junction area and Western Colorado.

If you or a loved one is in jail and can't afford bail, give us a call. We'll review the situation and let you know if IIP is an option.
